The Samsung Galaxy S8 looks to have already inspired some new devices after having had a huge impact after its launch on 29 March.
A similar near edge to edge display will also be included in the iPhone 8, if a new set of leaked photos are to be believed.
Images leaked earlier this week by tech site iDrop News claim to show “a late stage iPhone 8 prototype.”
The render reveals that the screen will not only stretch around the side edges but also the top and bottom.
In a similar manner to Samsung, the physical Home button seems to be something relegated to the past meaning that the fingerprint scanner would also need to be moved to the rear of the device.
The image, which was reportedly created from information provided by a Foxconn employee, shows have the fingerprint scanner could moved from the front of the device to the reverse and placed just below the Apple logo.
The new phone will also include a new dual-lens camera that is positioned vertically down the side of the device as had been previously suggested by tipsters.
It must be stressed that the images are not official so could be purely speculation but is expected to be named the iPhone Edition and have bigger and better specs than the iPhone 7S.
The device is expected to be glass-backed and powered by an improved A11 processor and iOS 11 and is expected to be revealed at Apple’s WWDC 2017 convention this coming June.
The iPhone 8 is rumoured to be officially launched in September.
