Kia has revealed a new extreme SUV that is designed to shuttle skiers up and down mountains using triangular tank tracks.
The new Kia concept car which will be known as the Sorento Ski Gondola, brings incredible all-terrain capabilities with autonomous technology meaning that no hill is too steep, even in the most treacherous of weather conditions.
It has storage space on the roof and doors that allow skiers to exit easily, even with their bulky gear.
The vehicle was unveiled last week at the SEMA Show held in Las Vegas.
The show focuses on autonomous driving and how it can be incorporated into lifestyle and sporting pursuits. The main aim is focused around freeing up both time and space and indeed the main event was the Kia Sorento Ski Gondola.
The vehicle has an impressive design with LED lights and side-view cameras allowing riders to see around the vehicle.
The ‘suicide style’ front and rear doors open to let skiers get in and out of the vehicle with ease, while inside the black leather seats with neon orange trim to match the military style tank tracks that replace the regular wheels.
The floor of the vehicle is covered with special “weatherised rubber coating” to allow for the weather conditions.
Kia are also aware that not everyone is into skiing and have revealed another concept car called to Niro Triathlon, which as the name suggests, is aimed at triathletes and those happier in the warmer weather.
