TOT Plc has announced plans to launch a new IPTV service which will allow anyone with an internet connection to stream selected TV programmes in Thailand.
Having previously launched its original IPTV service in 2012, available for a monthly fee of 150 baht, the new service, which will be delivered via TOT’s IPTV set top box will cost a one off payment of 3,500 baht and can be used with any broadband Internet connection, regardless of the Internet service provider.
Users can choose from 108 different channels which include a wide variety of news, entertainment, sports and children’s TV shows from Thailand and overseas.
TOT has also announced plans to launch two other premium IPTV packages. The first is available for 390 baht per month and offers customers the 132 channels, 18 of which are in HD. There is also a 750 baht per month package that offers 164 channels and includes 33 HD channels.
Internet Protocol television (IPTV) whereby TV channels are delivered over the Internet rather than through traditional terrestrial, cable or satellite formats.
There are a whole host of different IPTV providers which are available in Thailand. Some of the services popular amongst expats are Thai Expat TV (UK TV), Maige TV and 365Sport.
