Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has just unveiled two new high end flagship smartphones for 2015, the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro, which promise unrivalled performance and top of the range specs.
Launched at a press event in Beijing, Xiaomi’s new flagship devices will go head to head with the iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Google Nexus 6.
The Xiaomi Mi Note offers a full HD 5.7 inch display with curved Gorilla Glass 3, similar to that found on the iPhone 6 Plus.
Inside, there’s 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 801 processor.
The phone also includes a 13 megapixel rear facing camera by Sony, which offers optical image stabilisation, with a 4 megapixel camera on the front.
It also offers 4G dual SIM and a 3,000-mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi Note will be available with either 16GB or 64GB.
Perhaps even more interesting is the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, which includes a more powerful 64 bit Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB of RAM.
The Mi Note Pro comes with a 5.7 inch 2k display which offers 515 PPI, which is the same as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and slight better than the iPhone 6 Plus (401 PPI) and the Google Nexus 6 (493 PPI).
The Mi Note Pro also has 64GB of storage space and according to Xiaomi, is capable of download speeds of 450Mbps.
These two new devices could be really interesting options for anyone looking for a top end device without having to pay top end prices.
Xiaomi says the Mi Note will be be available for $370 (16GB) and $450 (32GB), whereas the Mi Note Pro will be available for $530, which is still considerably less than the latest offerings from Samsung and Apple.
Initially the Mi Note will first be available in Singapore by Q2 of this year, with news of its global release to be confirmed.
