Dropbox has announced a new integration with Facebook.
From today, you can now share Dropbox files over Facebook Messenger.
While being able to share photos, videos and files using Facebook Messenger is nothing new, the new integration with Dropbox allows users to instantly share files stored in their Dropbox account without ever having to leave Messenger.
What’s more, any photos, videos or animated GIFs that are shared from Dropbox will automatically be displayed in the chat window, which should help to simplify the sharing of files and eliminate the need to download files or copy URLs in order to be able to share something with your friends.
To use the new feature you will need to download the latest versions of both the Dropbox and Facebook Messenger apps for either Android or iOS.
In order to access Dropbox from Messenger tap on the More button when using Facebook’s chat app, you then need to make sure you select Dropbox as the source.
“We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about,” said Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger.
“Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.”
