The mid-level Android market (which typically covers smartphones that cost around $300) seems to be mainly focused on phones with good performance than design, and the ZenFone 2 is no exception to the rule.
However, the company is now making progress on both areas, and just announced the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition which has a huge 256 GB of storage and a fairly cool polygon pattern on the back.
The main thing of note here is the amazing amount of storage. 256 GB is almost unheard of in the smartphone world, twice as much as is available on the largest-capacity iPhone and four times as much as the Galaxy S6.
The special edition of the ZenFone 2 was just introduced in Brazil, and there is no word yet if the phone will also come to other markets such as Asia. It would certainly be a welcome addition to the Thai market, for instance, and we hope that Asus does launch the phone elsewhere. As long as the company doesn’t load up the phone with its typical unwanted bloatware, that’s a whole heap of storage…
